Denver, the “Mile High City”, is the gateway to the Rocky Mountains and the largest metropolis between Missouri and California, between Dallas and Seattle.
The metro Denver area is actually comprised of over seventy cities,
seven counties and a wide variety of geographical areas from quiet rural
agricultural communities to bustling downtown Denver hi-rise, lofts and
condominium communities.
Let’s immediately dispel a myth! Denver is not heavily snow-covered
nine months of the year. With Denver's temperate climate golfers are
frequently found enjoying their passions in
February and March, November and December. In unusual years, there
has been an occasional snow in June and September. But one of
Denver's greatest Camelot-like characteristics is that many snow storms
are followed by temperate sunny days where snow melts quickly away the
next morning and streets are completely dry by early afternoon.
Situated just a couple miles from the agricultural high plains to the
East and a couple miles from the history-rich and beautiful Rocky
Mountains to the West, Denver sits in a valley on the East side of the
mountains at an elevation of 5,280 feet, with some suburbs at slightly
higher elevations.
Denver’s pride is well-founded as the city boasts the nation’s largest airport, the second-largest performing arts center, first-rate healthcare facilities and
high ranking hospitals (some ranked in the top five nationally for
specific specialties).
Successful professional sports franchises, renowned restaurants and
hotels, four-season recreational pursuits, top convention facilities,
annual events and festivals to thrill the young and old, outstanding
education and major universities, and a thriving economy with "over 26,000 available jobs" (Sep ’05).
While five of the nation’s top ten ski areas are within a short commute
and a majority of the highest U.S. 14,000 foot mountains are within a half-day drive, metro Denver has a moderate climate and boasts approximately 300 sunshine days annually!
Beautiful scenery, breath taking sun rises and sun sets, abundant attractions, burgeoning job market and a
traditionally strong and steady growing housing market, make Denver a preferred business, travel and relocation destination.
